It is with great pride that I invite you to the 60th Annual Birmingham Rose Show. Each year The Birmingham Rose Society sponsors the show as a showcase of the wonderful varieties of roses that are grown in the state of Alabama. People travel from near and far to view the roses, to see award winning arrangements and to view an exhibition of photography featuring our National Floral Emblem, the rose.
For over six decades the Birmingham Rose Society has provided valuable advice to area rose gardeners offering assistance in selecting, planting and growing roses. As a local chapter of the American Rose Society, we are a part of a vast network of Rosarians around the United States who have joined together to educate our communities on growing roses.
I am proud to be a member of the Birmingham Rose Society, a local affiliate of the American Rose Society, and am also proud to be the 2012 Chairman of this years show. If you are in the area Saturday or Sunday, I hope you will stop by the Birmingham Botanical Gardens and see us. You’ll see some great roses! The best part, It’s All FREE!
If your on Twitter, Just follow the #RoseChat hashtag this weekend for photos and info streaming live from the show.
If you have ever wondered what a rose show is all about, here is a little video clip from the American Rose Society on last year’s show in Los Angeles. It gives some insight into what you will see in Birmingham this weekend.

I wish I could come. I hope you take some photos and write about it despite being so busy.
It must be wonderful to see all types of roses. I used to frequent a rosarium in The Hague when we lived there because it was amazing to see so many varieties of roses in full bloom.
