We acquired this beautiful miniflora rose earlier this year and we are now seeing some blooms.
This rose was hybrized by nationally acclaimed rosarian/hybridizer David Clemons and was introduced in 2009. This rose is named for an American thoroughbred horse who won the Preakness and Belmont Stakes in 1994.
This orange/red colored rose produces exhibition quality blooms and has been quite disease resistant. Can’t wait to see how this rose progresses in our garden.
Parentage: ‘Andie McDowell’ x ‘Kristin’

That is a stunning rose. Does it have a scent?
I am sorry to say that it has no scent….
Really exciting color; reminiscent to me of the newer Echinacea’s like ‘Tomato Soup’. Where’d you purchase her?
We purchased this roses from K & M Nursery in Bukatunna, MS. http://kandmroses.com/
Perfection…I would hang a portrait of the photo you posted in my living room!
Thank you! It is indeed a beautiful rose. We do frame some of our photos…
The red rose. It seems they are very popular are they not? Very beautiful Chris.
They are popular, yet I have friends who have many roses but will not grow red ones….
So beautiful!!!
