Tina and I drove down to Montgomery Saturday and on the way back just had to stop at Durbin Farm Market. It is located in Chilton County, Alabama just off I-65 at exit 205. Not exactly Birmingham, just a little piece down the road…..
Chilton County is known for its delicious peach crop. People drive from miles around just to get a taste of these wonderful peaches!
It’s still a little early for the seasons best peaches, but we did find some to bring home. We grabbed a basket of “Southern Pearl” variety, said to be the best for cobblers….
I just had to get a shot of these signs telling you about apples and ripening dates…
They also carry a nice selection of jams, jellies and preserves…..
Some of the best peach ice cream can be found here. Made fresh… I had “Peach Pecan”. Can you say good????
So, the next time you are down Chilton county way, stop at Durbin Farms Market. You can also find them on the web at DurbinFarms.com

Peach ice cream with no fake flavoring! My daddy used t o take me out for peach ice cream in August in Ohio. What a great post that brought back fond memories! The jam looks mighty fine also!
One of those kind of places I miss from the South. Fantastic!
I just love peaches. In northeast NE, I had a peach tree, husband pruned it and killed it. I was not a happy camper. Every summer a couple would bring in a load of peaches from Utah, they were wonderful, but so expensive.
I am going to show this post to Lou to inspire him to take me to this market! That ice cream looks scrumptious!
Y’all should go! It was a lot of fun. They even have a little garden shop to the side….
