For the last two days, the tempratures have dipped to near freezing. My grandmother always used to tell me that if it thundered in February, we would have a freeze when the Dogwood’s were in bloom. True to form, it did thunder in February and, the Dogwood’s are in bloom, and frost came this week. We have covered our roses to protect our tender new leaves, buds and blooms. The only blooms we have now are from the David Austin “Golden Celebration” rose which we recently planted. They came potted from Hanna’s Garden Shop here in Birmingham and were loaded with buds.
