>An annual ritual begins today.
Each year when daylight savings time kicks in, so does my daily rose walk. I have made it a habit to walk my yard early each morning to inspect and care for my roses. This is typically accomplished before 6:30 a.m. each day. I currently only have a dozen plants to tend, but keeping a check on their growth and progression is important. I helps me determine what works and what doesn’t in my garden.
On at least one of the walks each week, I check for weeds, black spot, Downy mildew, spray for fungus, feed, water, prune where necessary and later in the year, harvest beautiful blooms. Since I do not have a big problem with insects, I do not spray insecticides.
