Fertilizer Friday

Today I am joining Tootsie Time blog for Fertilizer Friday! Be sure and check out her blog and all the others participating today. I know you’ll enjoy it!

The anniversary of my birth came round last week and I was surprised with a gift certificate from my favorite garden shop. No to be one to procrastinate, I immediately made plants to visit Hannas Garden Shop. Four new roses later, I left with two hybrid tea specimens of “Artistry” and two floribunda specimens of “Cinco de Mayo”.

My wife loves the colors of Cinco de Mayo and I was struck by the form and beauty of Artistry at a recent garden party we attended. The photo of which was taken at that garden party.

They are two very different roses. One is classic rose form and the other a more open ruffled bloom. Both are captivating.

Artistry is beautiful. I can see why you feel for her. I have Cinco de Mayo, and it is a very prolific bloomer. Great shrub. It gets more orange in the heat; more lavender tones in cooler weather. Happy Birthday – hope you enjoy both your gifts!
