Fertilizer Friday – “Buff Beauty” Hybrid Musk

Hybrid Musk roses in my opinion, do not get enough press. I have a growing affection for this class of rose and grow a great example in my zone 7b garden.  Buff Beauty. I was inspired by Tom @ Tall Clover Farm to grow this rose. His description of its virtues sold me.  Planted in the Spring of 2010, this rose is beginning to spread out and up. It needs room to grow, as it will sprawl if you allow it to. It seems to grow best that way.  This rose is disease resistant in my garden and has a great repeat blooms. This sequence of photos was taken between April and August of this year. The color variation occurs with the change of seasons.

  2. It seems a shame some folks, and sometimes through no fault of their own, don’t give a rose the room it needs or maybe they just don’t have the room it needs…..Sprawling to me just means it’s happy, just my own uneducated observation……:-) I got some Zephrine Drouhin roses I grow up on a swag, trained them canes every chance I get, up and around a post and then along a chain and them things will sprawl every time my back is turned, but hey that’s not necessarily a bad thing, you know……:-)
