What’s Blooming This Week In My Alabama Garden

Even with the frenzy of the Rose Show last week, I still had time to snap a few photos in the garden. The first flush of bloom on our roses is ending and deadheading has already begun. In fact, the English Roses you see here are actually already on their second flush of bloom. Our perennials and annuals are really beginning to shine.

Tomorrow: Our Rose Show Results….

Beautiful pictures! I have been eyeing the Benjamin Britten for a while now, and it is how I came across your blog. How well does it repeat for you? I love the color and the descriptions I’ve read of the scent, but I also want something that will give me a lot of color throughout the summer. Would you recommend the BB?

    • Leah, Benjamin Britten is a vigorous grower in our garden. Would really be a climber if I let it. This is the second year for each of the two shrubs of BB we have and I have had about 3 flushes of blooms which is pretty good for a 2nd year Austin. They usually talk 3 years or so to settle in, but this one established early. Would recommend, just give it some time to settle in….
