Tina made a recent trip to S & W Greenhouse in White House, Tn. She called as she left there and said “I think I have a problem. I bought a dozen new roses and don’t think I have enough room for my luggage on the return trip to Alabama”…. Yes, she too has caught the rose bug… One rose, really caught her eye. ‘Butter Me Up’ is a new miniature rose introduced by Weeks Roses this year and shows great promise. We now have four shrubs of this rose that will replace three shrubs of another rose that have not lived up to “front yard” standards. We will have these in the ground by the end of the week in a new raised bed the surrounds our gas lamp post. We are hopeful that this roses will continue to produce beautiful yellow blooms.

Excellent piece here Chris. It surely is easy to catch the “rose bug” I caught it so early on I do not remember exactly when!! Butter Me Up is a pretty one indeed.

What a lovely rose. I have been searching for a true yellow rose — especially in miniature. But I doubt this one would do well in the harsh climate of Idaho. I wish it would.

So the rose bug is contagious! It sounds like Tina has been bitten as badly as you. Your garden is going to be even more spectacular! The color of ‘Butter Me Up’ is amazing. I wonder if it will keep its deep tones in the blazing sunshine of summer. You have reminded to tend to my own few roses. I think we have some great weather predicted after the rain stops this week.
